Techno Mile, Delft (NL)

>

The ‘Bouwkunde Catastrophe’ of 2008, in which the faculty of architecture building was consumed by flames, forms an occasion to transform the introverted Delft TU campus into a well-connected knowledge city. A central support, which for the most part consists of the construction engineering programme, functions as a connecting element between all the faculties and institutes. The underlying tram connection and the bicycle route overhead reinforce this connecting role. The campus will be extended to the area to the south of the local secondary road, creating a connected global knowledge city that stretches for no less than a mile: the Technomile.
