Kadaster, Apeldoorn (NL)
Daniela Schelle
Kadaster's existing modular office, designed by our office in the nineteen nineties, no longer served its purpose. The new design introduces a modern office concept. Open work areas with a maximum of eight work spaces are mixed with separate rooms for meetings and single-desk cockpits. The existing wall partitions are cleverly re-used. Central hallways are lined with glass walls to maintain free outside views.
For some of the Kadaster departments that extend the size of a single ofice floor, new openings are made with specially designed connecting staircases. In order to increase transparancy and communication the enclosed central cores are removed. The existing wooden panels covering these hallways are exchanged for glass walls.
