De Doelen - Great Hall, Rotterdam (NL)
Rob Ligtvoet
After 40 years of use, the large concert hall of the Philharmonic Orchestra building, build in the sixties by the Kraaijvanger brothers, is in need of renovation. The proposed improvements are in the spirit of the original design as the building is a monument. Alterations are made to the interior and the seats will be replaced. The installations form a large component of the proposed renovation. An intelligent lighting concept has been developed whereby different atmospheres can be created to adapt to different concert settings.
