Wilhelminahof Court Building, Rotterdam (NL)
Rob Ligtvoet
The Wilhelminahof complex housing the court of justice consists of two separate builings. A 15-storey tall red brick office block and a smaller stone clad box shaped structure with 18 court rooms. The officeblock and the adjacent tax office share the same architecture. Above the metro tunnel, a five-storey arch spans from the office block to the tax office. In the evening, through the use of floodlighting, the copper roof hiding all the installations seems to float above the courtroom building.
